Toeplate and Kickplate panels, also known as access panels, are made    for covering  the dishwasher bottom opening and to protect the electrical junction box and other components located under the dishwasher cabinet. Toe plate panel is usually adjustable and it is screwed first before covering the opening with the kick plate panel. Some dishwasher units do not use toe-plate panels and have only kickplate cover panels. Both parts are usually made of metal and painted to match with the color of the dishwasher. Some kickplate panels are made out of black or white plastic as well
